On 11 March 2016, the Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA) held a sharing session for three new Japanese scholarship recipients at the Embassy of Japan. Ms. Nur Azimatul Quddsyiah Haji Maidin, who received the MEXT scholarship will pursue her Master’s studies in Hokkaido University, whereas two ASJA scholarship recipients, Ms. Lim Kim Suan and Mr. Han Yean will further their studies in Waseda University as PhD and Masters students respectively.
Also present during the orientation was Mr. Marvin Ang, who is currently studying at Hitotsubashi University. Among matters discussed were the preparation of life as a student in Japan, including knowing important contacts and accommodation, as well as cultural, educational and language aspects and networking with BAJA members currently in Japan. BAJA members who were present also shared their experience while studying in Japan.
BAJA would like to wish the three scholarship recipients the best of luck for their studies in Japan.
