The Japanese Language and Culture Week was launched on 17 February 2017 at Times Square. Officiating at the launching ceremony was Pehin Dato Lailaraja Major General (Red) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awn Halbi bin Hj Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
BAJA participated in JLCW 2017 through showcasing education opportunities and study experiences in Japan in the booth shared with Continuing Education and Training (CET), Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) which offers Japanese language programs.
BAJA members as well as students that participated in the National Insitute of Youth Education (NIYE) program also went on stage to share their experiences in studying in Japan:
